Whirlpool Dryer F3E2 Error Code

VERIFIED

Error code F3E2
Appliance Dryer

Five loads in a row dried with no moisture sensor data registered: that is what triggers F3E2 on Whirlpool dryers, including commercial-grade residential ones.

Clearing it

Press Power. The code clears and the machine can be started again.

Causes and fixes

  • Dryer not level: clothes may not touch the moisture sensors inside the drum. Set the feet with a level. The top may be curved, so measure from the cabinet edge.
  • Tiny loads: a single item or a very small load may never reach the sensors. Try larger loads and pick an Automatic cycle over Timed Dry.

If it keeps coming back

  1. Switch the breakers off for one minute.
  2. Switch them on.
  3. Start a timed dry cycle.
  4. Monitor the dryer for one minute.

When the problem persists, a technician visit is needed.

On laundry towers

Both sections of a tower list F3E2 with the pressure sensor switch as the potential cause. Remove power for one minute (dryer) or 5 minutes (washer) and book service if it returns.

Compare with

  • F3E5: uses the same five-load wording
  • F3E1: a steam temperature sensor cause on towers
  • F3E8: temperature sensor on towers
