This site exists for people in San Francisco and around the Bay who own, rent or manage Whirlpool appliances and want a straight answer about what is wrong with them. We focus on one brand so that the diagnostic habits, the code vocabulary and the common installation quirks stay familiar from job to job.
Why one brand
Walk through a typical Bay Area rental and you will often find a Whirlpool washer, dryer, refrigerator and range in the same unit, bought together by a landlord who liked the consistency. Over a few years the building collects several generations of the same machine. Knowing how those generations differ, and how their error codes are usually reported, saves time at the appliance and money for the owner.
How we approach a repair
Three commitments shape every job. We diagnose before we repair, so the first visit is about finding the actual fault rather than replacing parts on a hunch. We write the findings into an estimate you can read at your own pace. And nothing is repaired without the approval of the person who owns the appliance or acts on the owner’s behalf.
That order matters in a rental. A tenant may be the one letting us in, while the landlord pays and decides. Putting the estimate in writing lets both sides see the same facts.
What we say no to
We will not ask you to open panels, test live circuits, handle gas fittings or touch sealed refrigeration parts. The checks we suggest to owners stay on the outside of the machine: power, breaker, water valve, filters, vents, hoses and the code on the display. If a smell of gas is present, the right move is to leave the unit and call the gas utility or 911 from outside.
What we work on
The lineup covers refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, washers, dryers, ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, microwaves and range hoods. The services overview shows how they are grouped.
Learning more before you call
Plenty of readers arrive with only a symptom. The blog holds troubleshooting articles written for exactly that moment, and the FAQ answers the questions we hear most often about visits and estimates. If you decide a visit is worth it, the contact page explains what to send us.
