Error codeF0EA
ApplianceCooktop
What happened
F0EA is an overheating message. When heat builds up inside the electronic parts, the control panel shuts off. Give the cooktop time to cool before cooking on it again.
Three things to check
Ventilation. A cooktop needs proper ventilation. Poor airflow can cause overheating and shutdown, and can stretch heating and boiling times. The Installation Instructions carry the specific venting details.
Empty cookware. A pan sitting empty on a cooking area can trigger the code. Turn the burner off and remove the pan, fill it with food or liquid, set it back on the cooking area and restart the cooktop.
Control area. Items, spills or soils on the control panel can cause the error. Remove whatever is lying there and wipe debris from the panel.
Power reset
Keep the circuit breaker off for one minute.
Turn the breaker on.
Wait until the cooktop is cool before using it.
Observe the display for one minute to confirm the error stays away.
If F0EA returns after the checks and the reset, we can schedule a visit in San Francisco through (415) 687-4102. Our Whirlpool cooktop repair page tells more. Note the cookware you used and the model number before you call.
Model compatibility: Whirlpool reuses codes across series and model years, so F0EA may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
